Time: After 10:00 p.m.
Hi, we were sitting in my garden in New Brighton, SE Calgary just after 10:00 p.m. on August 18, 2012, when we noticed a string of orange lights traveling from south to north.
They appeared to be approximately the same distance apart, not blinking, moving at about the same rate of speed as a helicopter, but there was no sound. They kept coming from the south, one after the other, heading north west.
We did hear a faint sound that sounded like fireworks, but by that time at least a dozen lights had passed over my house and it was only one pop. We didn't count from the beginning, but I would estimate 18 to 20 lights.
It appeared very strange and unnatural. Unfortunately, I did not grab a camera to document.
